Mani Trust successfully organised Environment Awareness cum Community Based Plantation Programme at Pedong in Kalimpong Block-II today . Environment Awareness Programme was organised under the presidentship of Senior Citizen Mr. Pem Gyachen Lama. Mr. R. D Bhutia presented the welcome speech and explain about the importance of Environment and its conservation. Mani Trust Founder Chairman Mr. Subash M Singh said that the Trust has vision to work on Health for for the betterment of the people and promote Kalimpong as Medical Tourism Destination, since health is related with environment, the trust has focus and have started an initiative called "Lets Save Environment" under which we sensitize grass level mass about the importance and protection of environment by organizing Environment Awareness and Community based Plantation Programme. He said, we have no control on natural calamities but we can always contribute to save our planet by planting trees which will help to heal our eco-system helping us to live healthy life and protecting the natural beauty of Darjeeling hills which shall help to boost tourism creating livelihood. He thanked all the participants and local residents for making the programme a grand success. Mani Trust Trustees Rizwan Rehman, Mr. Bishal Tirva, Mrs. Reshma Singh, Mrs. Bina Lohagun and other dignitaries Mr. Samten Dorji Kaji, Mr. Ta Tshering Bhutia, Mrs. Choden Bhutia, Mr. Tenzing Bhutia, Mr. Hom Singh, Mr. KB Rai were present in the programme.
