Aroop Biswas effigy burnt in Kalimpong
Kalimpong,22nd September
The Gorkha Janmukti Yuva Morcha today burned the effigy of TMC leader and
WB PWD Minister Arup Biswas in Kalimpong amidst his presence in Kalimpong .
The GJYM was protesting against the statement made by Arup Biswas in
Kurseong calling for Bimal Gurung's ouster from the hills.
The Last four to five days the Yuwa Morcha was planning the program but the
presence of security forces for CM duty came in the front.
Today too massive forces was present in the Damber Chowk area but the Youth
gathered at Sadobato near Kalimpong Municipality and in no time burned the
effigy chanting Arup Biswas Murdabad , Bimal Gurung Zindabad. The youth who
burned the effigy disperse to different places before Police Team reached the
spot.
Minister Biswas who reached Kalimpong on Tuesday was warmly received by
party supporters in Kalimpong .
Later after the incident TMC supporter
took a Protest Julus against the incident at Kalimpong Town. Police have
detained two youth in suspicion of burning the effigy of Minister Said a police
source.
